On Thursday morning, an IndiGo flight from Mumbai to Krabi encountered significant disruption when the pilot chose not to fly beyond his scheduled duty hours. Flight 6E 1085, which was meant to depart at 4:05 am, faced a delay of over three hours.
Footage from the incident revealed heated exchanges between passengers and the crew, with some travelers criticizing the pilot for his refusal to take off. In one video, a frustrated passenger expressed anger over altered travel plans, while another questioned the pilot’s whereabouts. The footage also depicted a passenger striking the aircraft’s exit door in frustration.
An IndiGo representative clarified that the delay stemmed from several contributing factors, including the late arrival of the previous aircraft and air traffic issues, coupled with the crew exceeding their regulated duty hours. Two travelers exhibited unruly behavior during this time and were subsequently removed from the flight by security, further prolonging the wait.
In light of the delays, the airline provided meals and refreshments to passengers to help mitigate their discomfort. IndiGo reiterated its commitment to prioritizing safety and maintaining a respectful environment, offering apologies for the disruption.
As per flight tracking information, the aircraft, which was initially slated to touch down in Krabi at 10 am, ultimately arrived around 1 pm, leaving passengers frustrated yet relieved to reach their destination.
