Giant Artwork Unveiled in Dubai to Honor Founding Leaders

In celebration of this year’s National Month, Dubai has introduced a remarkable tribute to the Founding Fathers of the UAE. Developed by Brand Dubai in collaboration with Dubai Municipality, the massive ground installation features a united portrait of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum.

Located at the roundabout opposite the Dubai Frame, where Sheikh Zayed Road intersects with Zabeel Park, this impressive artwork spans an 82-metre diameter. The design consists of meticulously arranged multicolored gravel, creating a portrait that can be fully appreciated from the air. Its significant scale and prime location make it a standout feature during the festivities.

This installation is part of the second edition of the #ZayedAndRashid campaign, aimed at celebrating the legacies and shared values of these two influential leaders. Their mutual vision and partnership form the cornerstone of the UAE’s growth narrative, and this artwork seeks to remind both locals and visitors of the foundational principles upon which the nation was established.

The chosen site symbolizes a convergence of the UAE's history and modernity, allowing for a picturesque view that bridges the nation's historic leadership with its contemporary accomplishments. Specialists utilized a unique insulating base to ensure that the gravel remains steady, safeguarding the clarity and detail of the artwork for the years to come. The circular design delivers a stunning aerial view, contrasting sharply with the urban backdrop.
