New Delhi came alive on Monday as it celebrated the 54th UAE National Day, with Union Minister Piyush Goyal attending the festivities, further enhancing the bond between India and the United Arab Emirates. The gathering, organized by UAE Ambassador Dr. Abdulnasser Jamal Alshaali, saw an impressive turnout of diplomats, officials, and members from both Indian and Emirati communities.
Goyal pointed out that India’s ambitious vision, Vikasit Bharat 2047, aligns seamlessly with the UAE’s developmental framework, We the UAE 2031. He asserted that the two nations are united in their commitment to achieving a brighter future for their citizens.
A key highlight of the evening was the burgeoning educational partnership between the countries. Goyal remarked that elite Indian institutions — such as IIT, IIM, and IIFT — are launching branches in Dubai, marking a significant advancement in international academic collaboration and fostering people-to-people connections.
Following the event, Goyal took to X to express his appreciation for the warm hospitality of the UAE ambassador, describing the India–UAE relationship as one rooted in trust, innovation, and mutual aspirations for the future.
UAE National Day, celebrated annually on December 2, commemorates the historic union formed in 1971 between Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, and Fujairah, with Ras Al Khaimah joining in 1972 to finalize the federation of seven emirates known today.
The celebration in Delhi highlighted the significant progress in the India–UAE partnership and the exciting prospects ahead as both nations enhance their collaboration in various domains such as trade, education, culture, and technology.
