The Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance (ADAEP) has unveiled its grand jury for the latest award cycle, further establishing its reputation as a standard for excellence in public administration. The panel features accomplished leaders from both Abu Dhabi and international backgrounds, bridging public and private sectors.
This initiative is part of a comprehensive government strategy aimed at boosting institutional effectiveness and encouraging synergy across various entities. It operates under the Abu Dhabi Government Performance and Excellence Model, a framework that prioritizes human impact and measurable results, aimed at reinforcing sustainable public welfare and advancing a future-ready governance framework.
The evaluation method for the award is highly rigorous, involving over 90 experts from both local and international domains who will review the performances of 37 government entities and 103 initiatives spanning several categories. For the first time, AI techniques will play a role in this evaluation, ensuring a higher degree of consistency and data-driven insights. The ultimate winners will be chosen by the grand jury.
Leading the jury is Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, the UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, who also serves as the Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNOC. The jury also includes notable figures such as Saif Saeed Ghobash, Ala’a Eraiqat, Mariana Mazzucato, and Andreas Jacobs.
This remarkable assembly combines expertise from the realms of governance, academia, innovation, and business to provide a comprehensive outlook on public value, performance, and institutional evolution.
Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber reaffirmed that the pursuit of excellence is pivotal to Abu Dhabi’s strategic vision, pointing out that the award aligns with the emirate’s goal of establishing the world’s first fully AI-native government by 2027. He emphasized the significant role technology plays in enhancing services, refining decision-making, and achieving measurable social impact.
Saif Saeed Ghobash mentioned that the jury represents a well-rounded mix of leadership expertise and international benchmarking, ensuring that award recipients truly exemplify innovation, adaptability, and significant improvements in quality of life.
Moreover, Mariana Mazzucato commended Abu Dhabi’s framework, asserting it serves as a global model for governments to prioritize public value. She noted that the award’s emphasis on inclusiveness, sustainability, and long-term societal effects surpasses conventional performance evaluations.
The announcement of the 2026 award cycle winners is set for April 2026, promising new benchmarks for excellence in government performance and innovation.
