Tragic Collision: Train Strikes School Minibus in Buggenhout, Belgium

In a devastating incident in Buggenhout, Belgium, a train collided with a school minibus, tragically claiming the lives of four individuals.

As per Deputy Prime Minister Maxime Prévot, the minibus was transporting children when the accident occurred early Tuesday morning.

The public prosecutor confirmed that among the deceased are two children aged 15 and 12, a 27-year-old teacher, and a 49-year-old bus driver.

At the time of the accident, there were nine people in the minibus, consisting of seven children, a supervisor, and the driver.

Police reported that five other children suffered injuries and were initially in critical condition but have since stabilized.

The supervisor aboard the bus survived the crash.

An investigation into the cause of the collision is currently underway.
