Dubai Sets New Standards in Government Communication

Post by : Bianca Hayes

Dubai is pioneering advancements in government readiness and citizen interaction, presenting a seamless communication strategy that bolsters cooperation among all sectors.

The General Network of Government Communication (GNGC), operating under the General Secretariat of The Executive Council, held a prominent meeting at Jumeirah Emirates Towers to showcase Dubai's strategic preparedness and whole-of-government integration framework. Officials highlighted that a consolidated communication strategy plays a pivotal role in keeping residents informed while building confidence in governmental actions.

In the plenary session titled ‘Dubai’s Framework for Readiness, Proactivity, and Government Integration’, Secretary General Abdulla Mohammed Al Basti emphasized that trust is essential, particularly in emergencies, facilitating quicker and more effective crisis management. Dubai's collaborative frameworks have gained international recognition for their rapidity and precision in transforming opportunities into real results.

The session also unveiled revisions to Dubai's Government Communication Guide, which now presents a systematic structure addressing strategic communication, media relations, and corporate duties. This guide guarantees that all government communications—from social platforms to innovative campaigns—are in line with Dubai Plan 2033 and associated agendas, simplifying operations across various authorities.

Assistant Secretary General Sabah Salem Al Shamsi noted the guide's launch under Executive Council Decision No. (47) of 2025, stating it standardizes operations and fosters collaboration while promoting creative communication initiatives. Meanwhile, Director Budoor Ali stressed the importance of proactive engagement, illustrating how the GNGC's strategy enhances public awareness and trust throughout the city.

The meeting also introduced flagship initiatives such as the City Makers program, which consolidates services across sectors like education, health, and community development. Innovative systems like Jabr provide bereaved families with a single point of contact across 22 government organizations to manage all procedures compassionately and effectively.

Dubai’s model illustrates how cohesive communication and integrated services can yield practical benefits, enhance public confidence, and elevate the city's global image—all while prioritizing residents in government actions.
