The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has elevated its digital framework with significant enhancements to its Technology Operation Control Centre (TOCC), designed to optimize smart services, operational proficiency, and cybersecurity for Dubai's transport system.

His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors at RTA, emphasized that the authority is committed to expanding its digital and technological landscape in alignment with Dubai’s goal of being the world’s leading smart city.

During a visit to the TOCC, Al Tayer shared that RTA is integrating advanced digital technologies and artificial intelligence into its operations to boost efficiency, enhance service availability, and support Dubai’s forward-looking initiatives in smart mobility and digital advancement.

He noted that investing in cutting-edge technological infrastructure is vital for service sustainability, quality of life improvements, and enhancing customer experience.

The TOCC serves as a centralized hub responsible for the management and monitoring of RTA’s technical systems and digital services around the clock. It operates under a unified framework that emphasizes ongoing monitoring, technical support, and business continuity, while adhering to high standards of operational readiness and service quality.

Al Tayer remarked that the ongoing digital transformation is a comprehensive system reliant on intelligent data analysis, proactive operational challenge monitoring, and expedited decision-making processes. He reiterated that these advancements bolster operational resilience and ensure uninterrupted service delivery across all RTA divisions.

During his visit, Al Tayer assessed the centre’s smart systems that oversee digital infrastructure, applications, and databases. He also evaluated the cybersecurity protocols and operational frameworks established to ensure effective 24/7 service availability.

The centre encompasses various specialized operational units, including the IT Support Centre, which provides round-the-clock technical assistance, and the Operations Monitoring Centre, tasked with assessing system performance and early identification of technical problems.

Specialized technical teams manage and operate the systems to ensure comprehensive integration and constant readiness of the technological infrastructure.

According to RTA, the upgraded centre is capable of managing and monitoring over 200 server-hosting units across multiple data centres and handles in excess of 500 support requests daily through its continuous monitoring system.

The authority has asserted that these advancements fortify the reliability of digital systems, boost operational performance, and enhance business continuity within RTA's offerings.

RTA also announced that the centre has recently achieved an international Tier III classification, recognized as one of the premier global standards for measuring data centre reliability, operational readiness, and service continuity.
