In an important announcement, Dubai has declared that private school tuition fees will not rise for the 2026-27 academic term. This confirmation comes from the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) as per the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister.

This initiative is part of a broader economic support strategy which also introduces a second economic incentives package totaling AED 1.5 billion. This brings Dubai's overall economic support to AED 2.5 billion, encompassing 33 initiatives slated for execution over the coming three to twelve months.

KHDA's new measures will allow accredited private schools to utilize deferred or instalment-based license renewals and fines. Early childhood centres will also receive notable relief, including waivers of license renewal fees and fines alongside exemptions from Dubai Municipality market fees.

Moreover, the Knowledge Fund Establishment has introduced additional support for early childhood centres, such as partial rent exemptions and extended periods of rent-free status for centres still being developed.

To lessen financial burdens further, educational institutions will gain from exemptions on guarantee insurance requirements, temporary suspensions of penalties, frozen rent increases upon renewal, and deferred rental payments.

KHDA emphasized that these initiatives aim to sustain stability and growth in Dubai’s private education sector while addressing the needs of families and institutions. The system remains flexible to ensure quality education continuity.

Currently, over 95% of students in Dubai's private schools are attending classes in person, indicating strong confidence in the educational framework's capacity for seamless learning.

The private education sector in Dubai boasts a wide array of options for families across 17 distinct curricula, each with various fee structures throughout the emirate. KHDA also offers the “Girnas – Educational Advisor” service, assisting parents in finding the ideal schools for their children.

As per KHDA’s report, close to 9,000 new affordable school seats have been introduced in this academic year, catering to nearly 230,000 students, with an additional 7,500 seats anticipated in the next two years.

KHDA is currently evaluating over 30 requests for new private schools, following the launch of six new schools this year. Enrolment in Dubai's private educational institutions saw a 6% uptick in 2025, illustrating increasing trust in the sector's contribution to the emirate’s evolution.
