Abu Dhabi is set to showcase its rich traditions as the 40ft Rowing Race takes to the waters on December 3, 2025, in celebration of the 54th Eid Al Etihad. This vibrant event not only highlights competitive spirit but also honors the UAE's profound maritime history.
Significantly, this year’s race coincides with the grand opening of the Zayed National Museum in the Saadiyat Cultural District, enhancing its cultural relevance. Spanning three nautical miles, the race will start from Reem Island, navigating past notable landmarks like the Zayed National Museum and the Natural History Museum, ultimately finishing near the iconic Louvre Abu Dhabi.
The competition will see 68 boats and 1,156 sailors participate across four rounds, each representing the colors of the UAE flag. With a staggering prize pool exceeding AED2.4 million, rewards include AED80,000 and a golden replica for first place, AED70,000 and a silver replica for second place, and AED60,000 with a bronze replica for third, alongside additional prizes for other participants.
