Understanding Phygital Sports
Phygital sports combine conventional athletic contests with digital gaming in an all-encompassing format. Teams will first engage in virtual competitions before clashing in actual venues, with their combined scores determining the champions. This reflects the expanding blend of technology and physical performance.
This event features a remarkable line-up, with over 850 competitors from 60 nations—including established teams, emerging talents, and bright newcomers—across 11 disciplines, heralding one of the most varied and competitive formats ever seen.

On December 17, Abu Dhabi will host the Phygital Sports Summit, a leading forum aimed at addressing the evolution of hybrid sports. Experts, athletes, innovators, and policymakers will engage in discussions on topics such as human-AI collaboration, youth engagement, athlete wellbeing, and the legacy of phygital sporting.
