Ranveer Singh’s international espionage thriller, Dhurandhar, has made significant waves at the box office, recently hitting the noteworthy benchmark of Rs 1100 crore worldwide. This puts the film firmly among India's most successful movies. However, after a stellar debut, it is now experiencing signs of a downturn, recording its lowest single-day box office revenue on the fourth Friday following its release.

On that Friday, the film grossed Rs 9.70 crore domestically, bringing its Indian total to Rs 794.20 crore. Cinema occupancy across the nation took a hit, dropping to just 18 percent. Morning screenings had the least attendance, with a mere 9.65 percent occupancy, while the afternoon and evening showings did slightly better, achieving occupancy rates of 20.32 percent and 21.93 percent, respectively.

Regionally, the National Capital Region (NCR) held a 20 percent occupancy across 921 screenings, showcasing a fair audience turnout. In contrast, Mumbai reported a slightly lower occupancy of 18.33 percent from 633 shows. These statistics highlight a noticeable decline from the film’s initial release weeks, where theaters were bustling and many shows were sold out.

Nonetheless, despite this reduction in daily box office figures, Dhurandhar has already overtaken the total worldwide earnings of popular Bollywood films such as Pathaan (Rs 1,069.85 crore) and Jawan (Rs 1,163.62 crore). This positions it as the sixth highest-grossing Indian film in history. However, it still falls short compared to some of the most giant blockbusters, including KGF Chapter 2, RRR, Pushpa 2: The Rule, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, and Dangal.

Remarkably, the film continues to fend off competition from newer releases, outpacing titles like Tu Meri Main Tera, featuring Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday, as well as the Hollywood entry Avatar: Ash and Fire. This illustrates the lasting popularity and fan engagement surrounding Dhurandhar, even weeks after its debut.

Starring Ranveer Singh along with a remarkable ensemble including Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi, and Sara Arjun, Dhurandhar was produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, premiering in theaters on December 5.

Fans are excitedly anticipating the sequel, Dhurandhar 2, which is set to launch on March 19, promising more thrilling sequences from India's premier spy thriller series.
