The second edition of Cyber Q made its grand return to Abu Dhabi today, attracting cybersecurity, quantum, and AI experts from over 100 nations to the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). This three-day event, orchestrated by the UAE Cybersecurity Council, delves into the rapid technological advancements currently transforming global digital security.
This year's motif, ‘Where Quantum, AI and Cybersecurity Converge’, frames conversations around how new technologies are reshaping the safeguarding of data, networks, and critical national systems. Delegations from around the globe have come together to examine the escalating impact of quantum computing and the rising complexity of AI-driven cyber threats—two crucial elements in global security strategizing.
Daytime discussions focused on breakthroughs in quantum encryption, uncovering vulnerabilities in traditional systems, and the pressing need to adopt post-quantum security frameworks. Exhibitors presented state-of-the-art tools ranging from quantum-resilient communication solutions to automated encryption-discovery platforms designed to identify weak or outdated security measures.
In tandem with the technical sessions, various agreements were established between government bodies and private organisations to bolster cyber readiness while fostering collaboration in digital defence efforts. These alliances aim to fortify collective response mechanisms, enhance information sharing, and support research into future-centric security standards.
Workshops and simulations at the venue provided hands-on experiences with real-world scenarios involving quantum threats and AI-focused intrusions, offering participants a chance to practice their response methods. Experts underscored the increasing necessity for flexible infrastructures that can cope with technologies evolving at a pace beyond conventional security tactics.
As the Cyber Q event continues, the emphasis is on equipping digital frameworks for a future where quantum capabilities and artificial intelligence will significantly influence both innovation and susceptibility. This gathering positions the UAE as a pivotal hub for shaping global security strategies.
