Crocodile Threat Surfaces Amidst Mozambique Flood Crisis; 3 Lives Lost

Severe flooding in Mozambique has followed heavy rains, inundating communities and causing extensive destruction. The town of Xai-Xai, among the worst hit, has seen crocodiles emerging in the inundated areas. Official reports indicate that crocodile attacks have led to at least three fatalities.

Throughout southern Africa, relentless rains and flooding over the last month have claimed more than 100 lives across Mozambique, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. The flooding has ravaged thousands of dwellings and impacted essential infrastructure like roads, bridges, schools, and healthcare facilities.

Authorities in Mozambique are advising residents to seek higher ground as evacuations proceed, emphasizing the growing danger posed by crocodiles in submerged locales.
