The authorities are promoting public involvement via the Narcotics Suppression Bureau hotline 1386, enabling citizens to report suspicious behaviors and aid in the detection of drug offenses in their neighborhoods.
Recent government statistics from the first half of fiscal year 2026 indicate significant advancements in the war on drugs. Over 150,000 drug-related cases were prosecuted in this timeframe, with authorities seizing upwards of 796 million meth pills and nearly 25 tons of crystal methamphetamine during various operations.
Security agencies announced the dismantling of 139 key drug trafficking networks as a result of coordinated crackdowns across diverse locations. Additionally, assets worth over 9,156 million baht linked to alleged drug crimes have been seized and frozen.
Aside from enforcement, the government is placing considerable emphasis on treatment and rehabilitation for those affected by drug addiction. Reports show that over 79,000 individuals have begun recovery programs aimed at facilitating their reintegration into society.
Authorities state that awareness and rehabilitation initiatives have reached over 4.5 million young people throughout Thailand, purposely designed to inform them about the perils of drug use and deter future involvement in narcotics-related activities.
Efforts to enhance international collaboration against cross-border drug trafficking have been scaled up as well. Officials highlighted the expansion of intelligence-sharing initiatives and coordination among security forces, particularly in border areas where trafficking poses a significant threat.
