Cultural Festivities Ignite in Ashgabat

The capital city of Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, is set to host a vibrant cultural weekend as it commemorates Constitution Day and State Flag Day. A rich array of artistic events, performances, and exhibitions will take place throughout the city.

In anticipation of the celebrations, various cultural meetings, thematic exhibitions, and scientific conferences are being convened in Ashgabat. The Pushkin State Russian Drama Theatre has curated an engaging program for audiences of all ages, featuring family-friendly performances like “Thumbelina” and “The Kidnapping of Cheburashka,” in addition to evening shows such as “Chekhov’s Vaudevilles” and “Family Secret.”

Families will also delight in presentations at the Turkmen State Puppet Theatre, where productions like “Baky rowaýatlar,” “Jүýteiniň toý,” “Bir towşanjyk bar ekeni,” and “Aladdin” will unfold throughout the weekend.

Officials have noted that the diverse cultural offerings underscore Turkmenistan's dedication to maintaining its rich traditions while promoting creative expression and public engagement in cultural life.
