Dubai's Al Etihad Parade: A Grand Celebration for National Day

Post by : Bianca Hayes

Dubai is set to showcase a powerful display of unity and national pride as Brand Dubai, the creative branch of the Government of Dubai Media Office, along with the Events Security Committee, prepares for the Al Etihad Parade on December 2 to celebrate the 54th Eid Al Etihad. This event kicks off the broader “National Month” campaign initiated by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council.

Anticipating thousands in attendance, the parade will convene at Dubai Maritime City at 3:00 PM. At 4:00 PM, the colorful procession will take to Jumeirah Road, starting at the Union House intersection and continuing to the Burj Al Arab intersection. This hour-and-a-half spectacle aims to celebrate the Spirit of the Union with a rich display of culture, color, and national symbolism.

Over 30 volunteers from the Community Development Authority will be assisting during the event, distributing more than 1,000 UAE flags to attendees. Their involvement underscores the growing culture of volunteering in Dubai and the emphasis on community engagement during the “Year of the Community”.

Organizers have rolled out detailed guidelines to ensure the parade is safe and orderly. Attendees must adhere to designated routes and police directions, avoiding unsanctioned gatherings or stunts. Passengers are required to remain seated in vehicles during the parade, and drivers must maintain visibility without obstructed windows or distracting decorations. The usage of sprays, fireworks, or modifications that create excessive noise is forbidden, and no vehicle should exceed passenger capacity or allow individuals to lean out of windows or sunroofs.

Key requirements include maintaining cleanliness, respecting designated lanes, and avoiding traffic blockages. Non-compliance could incur strict penalties as outlined in Decree No. (30), with fines ranging from AED 10,000 to AED 100,000, potential vehicle impoundment for over 90 days, 24 black points, and possible license suspension.

Police will patrol the parade route to ensure smooth traffic flow and provide a safe environment for all participants. Residents and citizens are encouraged to partake in the festivities responsibly and stay informed via official updates.

The Al Etihad Parade promises to be a highlight of Dubai’s National Day celebrations, embodying national unity, shared pride, and the principles that continue to guide the UAE forward.
