The Finance Department of Ajman has introduced a new initiative known as the “Financial Empowerment” programme, aimed at bolstering financial literacy and promoting stability within the community.
This programme is designed for various segments of society, including senior citizens, individuals with disabilities, and students from both schools and universities. Its goal is to demystify financial concepts and assist individuals in enhancing their financial planning capabilities, enabling them to make well-informed choices in their daily lives.
To kick off the initiative, the department hosted a “Financial Literacy” workshop in collaboration with the Seniors Happiness Centre. This event featured open dialogues and shared experiences, fostering an engaging atmosphere that enriched participants' understanding of practical financial expertise.
The focus of the workshop included essential topics such as personal finance management, expense planning, and effective use of digital financial services provided by the government. These measures aim to nurture financial independence and enhance social stability within Ajman.
This workshop is part of a wider array of activities under the Financial Empowerment programme, designed to promote responsible financial habits and uplift the quality of life in Ajman.
According to Marwan Ahmed Al Ali, the Director-General of the department, financial awareness has become paramount in light of rapid economic transformations. He emphasized that financial literacy is vital for ensuring stability among individuals and families.
He further stated that the programme harmonizes with Ajman Vision 2030, which aspires to cultivate a prosperous, inclusive, and informed society. This initiative also underscores the department's dedication to transforming financial insights into actionable skills for everyday life.
The Financial Empowerment programme marks significant progress in equipping the community to tackle financial challenges while promoting sustainable and responsible financial practices.
