The Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority has reached a significant benchmark by securing accreditation for the Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS) programme from the American Heart Association (AHA). In addition, the authority has reaffirmed its role as an AHA-authorised training centre, showcasing its dedication to upholding international healthcare standards.

This accreditation represents a pivotal advancement in enhancing Abu Dhabi’s emergency healthcare system. The ASLS programme aims to optimize swift and precise stroke evaluations, enhance clinical decision-making processes, and facilitate timely medical interventions rooted in evidence-based methodologies. These improvements are poised to notably elevate patient care outcomes and ensure effective collaboration between pre-hospital services and emergency departments.

The renewed accreditation as an AHA training centre underscores the authority’s relentless dedication to equipping emergency responders with top-tier skills. They continue to provide specialized courses including Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and first aid training. These initiatives are designed to enhance the readiness of healthcare professionals and empower the local community in managing emergencies effectively.

Brigadier Salem Abdullah Bin Barak Al Dhaheri, the authority's Director General, referred to this achievement as a strategic milestone, emphasizing that such dual recognition reflects a robust commitment to embracing international best practices and improving operational integration while enhancing emergency response efficacy.

This accomplishment builds on the authority’s wider vision to create a sophisticated training ecosystem and strengthen collaborations with premier global institutions. It also aligns with its previous milestones in ambulance services, such as receiving the Canadian Diamond Accreditation, further establishing Abu Dhabi as a frontrunner in healthcare excellence and public safety.

Moreover, the authority persists in offering accredited training programmes for both medical professionals and the general public through the TAMM platform. These courses are invaluable in bolstering emergency readiness, supporting national preparedness, and progressing Abu Dhabi’s mission for a safe and sustainable society.
