Agthia Group has officially launched the Agthia Academy, in partnership with Bühler, aimed at cultivating Emirati talent in food manufacturing, baking, milling, and production across the UAE.
This academy is designed to equip entrepreneurs, operators, and aspiring food industry experts with the practical skills and global insights necessary to enhance production quality, increase operational efficiency, and elevate manufacturing standards. Furthermore, this initiative aligns with the UAE’s strategic goals for long-term food security by fostering a skilled local workforce in the food sector.
The launch coincides with Agthia Group’s involvement in the Make it in the Emirates 2026 exhibition, where they emphasized their commitment to industry-led education and workforce development. Through this academy, Agthia aims to bolster capabilities throughout the food value chain while promoting sustainable growth in the sector.
Salmeen Alameri, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Agthia Group, stated that the academy showcases the company’s dedication to investing in its people and providing Emirati talent with world-class learning opportunities in food manufacturing.
He highlighted that the program integrates theoretical learning with hands-on application, empowering participants to enhance consistency, productivity, and operational excellence, ultimately fostering a stronger, more resilient food economy in the UAE.
Heiko Feuring, President of Bühler for the Middle East, Africa, and India, noted that the collaboration will enable participants to leverage cutting-edge technologies, contemporary manufacturing techniques, and valuable industry experiences. He mentioned that the academy will help cultivate skilled professionals adept at driving innovation, sustainability, and efficiency within the UAE food sector.
The academy will collaborate closely with notable UAE educational institutions such as United Arab Emirates University, Zayed University, and Abu Dhabi Hospitality Academy – Les Roches. These partnerships are aimed at enhancing academic courses, facilitating industry-relevant training, and creating career pathways in alignment with international food industry standards.
The curriculum will encompass classroom instruction, technical training, and international exposure through Agthia’s facilities in Abu Dhabi and Bühler’s global training centers in Switzerland.
With this initiative, Agthia Group is further reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s role as a premier hub for advanced food manufacturing, innovation, and industry-specific education.
