Interactive Learning Transforms Education in Abu Dhabi Museums

In an innovative stride towards modern education, Abu Dhabi's premier museums are establishing themselves as dynamic cultural and educational hubs. By amalgamating the arts with contemporary learning approaches, these museums are enriching the educational experience for students through interactive programmes and technological advancements.

Leading this initiative is the Louvre Abu Dhabi, which embraced more than 67,000 students in 2025 alone. The museum provided tailored activities for schools, universities, and individuals with special needs, enhancing students’ connection to art in impactful ways.

Set to elevate their offerings in 2026, the museum is introducing the Museum Curriculum Portal. Developed in partnership with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi and sanctioned by the Ministry of Education, this platform aligns 148 artworks and artefacts with the national curriculum, spanning various subjects such as science and mathematics, thereby integrating museum learning into classroom settings.

Simultaneously, the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi is enhancing science education via its Research and Education Institute. It employs discovery-driven learning and virtual reality to engage students in the fields of biodiversity, sustainability, and Earth sciences.

Moreover, the Zayed National Museum adds to the educational landscape with immersive programmes like "Baba Zayed" and "Unlocking History." These initiatives emphasize UAE values, heritage, and national identity through storytelling, traditional craft workshops, and digital educational resources, thus promoting both cultural heritage and lifelong learning.
