Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan has announced Resolution No. 28 of 2026, establishing a Commercial Mediation Centre under the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This initiative is designed to bolster the resolution of commercial disputes and support the emirate’s expanding business landscape.
The resolution was enacted by Sheikh Mansour in his role as Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department.
The new Commercial Mediation Centre will function under the administrative and financial oversight of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, while also being supervised by the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department.
Located at the chamber's headquarters in Abu Dhabi, there are plans to open additional branches across the emirate to enhance access to mediation services.
The centre aims to create an organized framework to resolve commercial disputes via mediation, facilitating faster, amicable, and more economical resolutions compared to traditional court processes.
It will promote mediation as an alternative dispute resolution method while fostering governance, fairness, transparency, and integrity in handling commercial disputes through neutral and flexible procedures.
The resolution outlines methods for dispute resolution, including court-referred mediation, voluntary mediation by the parties, and other alternative dispute resolution techniques. The centre will administer mediation services for both local and international disputes, in accordance with UAE laws and mutual agreements.
According to the resolution, settlement agreements reached through the centre will be overseen by a supervising judge. Once validated, these agreements will bear the legal authority of an executory instrument, enforceable under the UAE Federal Civil Procedures Law.
This initiative is expected to enhance Abu Dhabi’s status as a premier destination for business and investment by providing efficient and expedited commercial dispute resolution services.
