The Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi (DCD) has wrapped up the inaugural activation of its “Where Life Pulses” initiative, which took place from April 10 to 12, 2026, at Al Aamerah Park in Al Ain.

This three-day event resonated with over 22,000 attendees, showcasing its effectiveness in enhancing social interaction and solidifying community ties. The initiative was designed to unite residents with a host of engaging and inclusive activities suitable for all ages.

A standout feature of the event was the enthusiastic involvement of children and budding entrepreneurs from Al Aamerah and surrounding locales. With family support, the participants managed small-scale projects, allowing them to gain practical experience that boosted confidence and nourished entrepreneurial aspirations among youth.

The event offered a diverse array of activities, including eight educational workshops, five interactive community games, and six food trucks, creating a lively atmosphere that fostered collaboration, creativity, and a shared sense of belonging.

Mohammed Hilal Al Balooshi, Executive Director of the Community Engagement and Social Empowerment Sector at DCD, remarked that the program reflects an innovative strategy to enhance social cohesion and empower youth in their communities. He underscored the crucial role families play in nurturing children’s growth and upholding community values.

Fatema Abdulrahman Al Hosani, Director of the Social Cohesion Sector at DCD, noted that the initiative offers practical pathways for youth to dive into entrepreneurship and community involvement, while reinforcing the role of families as vital contributors to development.

The “Where Life Pulses” initiative aligns with DCD’s broader mission to transform public spaces into lively community hubs that foster creativity, enhance quality of life, and cultivate social connections.

This effort was made possible through collaboration with key partners, including the Department of Municipalities and Transport – Abu Dhabi, the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge, and the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an, all of whom provided essential support for venue logistics, outreach, and funding.
