The organizing committee for the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open has officially confirmed that Canadian tennis prodigy Victoria Mboko will make her debut at the upcoming tournament. The fourth edition of the WTA 500 event is set to take place from January 31 to February 7, 2026, at the International Tennis Centre in Zayed Sports City, ensuring a showcase of elite tennis for spectators.

At just 19 years old, Toronto-based Mboko had an extraordinary season in 2025, making a remarkable ascent from outside the top 300 to breaking into the top 20. A highlighted moment of her year was clinching the esteemed WTA 1000 National Bank Open title in Montreal in August, where she triumphed over four Grand Slam champions, including Naomi Osaka in the final, marking her as a rising star in women's tennis.

Her winning streak continued with another title victory in Hong Kong in November. Earlier in the year, she had already made headlines by winning four back-to-back ITF World Tennis Tour titles, and reaching the third round at the French Open underlined her consistency and growth in international play. Her rapid ascent has captured the attention of tennis enthusiasts across the globe.

The Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open will also see defending champion Belinda Bencic alongside up-and-coming talents such as Alexandra Eala from the Philippines. As Victoria Mboko debuts in the UAE, fans can look forward to high-stakes matches against some of the world’s top competitors.

With an impressive run in 2025 and a swift rise in the rankings, Mboko’s participation in the Abu Dhabi Open is anticipated to attract significant attention from media and fans alike. Her journey exemplifies the growing influence of young, talented athletes on the WTA Tour, bringing excitement to each tournament she participates in.
