In a thrilling opening match of the Under-19 Asia Cup, India’s prodigious talent Vaibhav Suryavanshi dazzled with a stunning century against the UAE at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai on December 12, 2025. The 14-year-old achieved this incredible feat in just 56 balls, hitting nine fours and five sixes, marking his sixth century of the year and underscoring his exceptional batting talent.
Vaibhav started his innings with caution, scoring his first runs with a boundary off Ali Asgar on the sixth ball. He quickly picked up the pace, targeting the left-arm seamer and hitting two sixes in the following over. Reaching his half-century in just 30 balls, he celebrated with a massive six against Ahmed Khudadad. Although he was dropped on 85 while trying to hit Uddish Suri, Vaibhav kept his cool and raised his century with a single, setting a powerful tone for India after batting first.
This marked Vaibhav’s second List A century this year, having previously scored his first in England. It was also his sixth century across formats in 2025, showcasing his impressive consistency and form. He had previously hit his maiden century during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy against Maharashtra, scoring 100 runs in just 57 balls, including seven sixes and seven fours, proving he can dominate in various conditions.
Finishing unbeaten on 108 off 61 balls, he propelled Bihar to a total of 176 for 3 in 20 overs. His remarkable performances in both domestic and international youth cricket have made waves. In the Rising Stars Asia Cup in Doha, he amassed 239 runs at an average of 59.75, featuring a rapid 32-ball century against the UAE, despite India bowing out in the semi-finals against Bangladesh.
Vaibhav’s meteoric rise in cricket began when he debuted in the Ranji Trophy at the tender age of 12. He gained significant attention during his IPL debut season with the Rajasthan Royals, scoring 252 runs at an impressive strike rate of 206.55, including a record-setting 38-ball century against the Gujarat Titans—the second-fastest in IPL history and making him the youngest centurion in the league.
With his explosive batting style, record-setting performances, and consistent showing in 2025, Vaibhav Suryavanshi stands out as one of India’s brightest cricketing stars, capturing the hearts of fans at just 14.
