Unbeaten Champions Sabalenka and Rybakina Face Off in Final Showdown

The final on Saturday will spotlight two unbeaten talents, with 2022 finalist Aryna Sabalenka slightly leading Elena Rybakina in their 8-5 head-to-head, including a notable victory at the Australian Open finals two years ago.

Sabalenka, preparing for her ninth final of the season, views the match as “another powerful contest” and is confident after her tense semi-final victory against Amanda Anisimova. In a gritty clash, she secured the first set by enhancing her aggression and withstood pressure in the decisive set to clinch victory. “We had an incredible match, and both of us earned our spot in the final,” Sabalenka remarked, also commending Anisimova’s impressive performance this season.

Previously, Rybakina staged a comeback from a set down, defeating Jessica Pegula 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 and maintaining her flawless record at the King Saud University Sports Arena. Even with shoulder discomfort impacting her precision early in the match, Rybakina utilized strategic aces and sharp focus during pivotal points to secure her victory. Pegula played fiercely, claiming the first set but ultimately succumbed as Rybakina capitalized on critical moments towards the end.

This final is set to be a high-octane clash between two powerful contenders, both undefeated in the tournament and eager to vie for the championship title.
