Officials attributed the coverings to the president’s frequent handshakes, emphasizing that there is no cause for concern regarding his health.

White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt addressed the issue on Thursday, reiterating comments she had previously made regarding the appearance of bruising on Trump’s hand, which had sparked questions from the media. Leavitt explained that the president’s rigorous schedule of greeting supporters and shaking hands throughout the day, coupled with his daily aspirin regimen, could easily result in minor bruising. “The president is literally shaking hands constantly,” she said. “This, along with aspirin, can cause the marks you see.”

Supporting Trump’s claims of robust health, a comprehensive medical examination conducted in October included an MRI scan and other standard assessments. The results, as reported by his physician, concluded that Trump remains in excellent health with no significant medical issues detected. This assessment has been used by the White House to counter ongoing speculation and reinforce the narrative that the bandages on his hand are not indicative of any underlying health problem.

By addressing the issue publicly, the White House aims to reassure the public and the media that the president’s minor hand bruising is a normal consequence of his daily interactions and preventive medications.
