SAP Unveils EU AI Cloud to Enhance Secure AI Solutions in Europe

SAP is launching a new initiative dubbed the EU AI Cloud, unifying its previous sovereignty efforts into a streamlined system. The primary objective of this innovative framework is to provide European organizations with enhanced options, greater oversight, and increased confidence when harnessing AI and cloud technologies. The initiative ensures that businesses can operate without concerns over data expatriation or non-compliance with EU regulations.

The EU AI Cloud presents a variety of operational environments for organizations. Some may opt to utilize SAP’s proprietary data centers, while others might select trusted European cloud service providers. Additionally, some firms require all data and systems to remain on their premises. SAP has tailored the EU AI Cloud to accommodate these diverse requirements, ensuring all operations are conducted within the region and adhere to EU data protection laws.

In response to the rising demand for safe AI solutions in Europe, SAP is collaborating with Cohere to introduce novel agent-style and multimodal AI applications. Organizations can access these partner solutions through SaaS, PaaS, or IaaS options. They can choose to deploy them on SAP’s infrastructure or via approved European cloud partners—delivering modern AI solutions while adhering to Europe's stringent safety, privacy, and sovereignty standards.

EU AI Cloud operates through SAP Sovereign Cloud, which empowers organizations to determine the level of control they desire throughout the technology stack. AI models are processed within SAP's cloud infrastructure located in European data facilities, ensuring operations remain separate from major US cloud providers while also enhancing compliance with EU regulations.
