Bengaluru Pilot Charged with Assaulting Cabin Crew Member

In a disturbing event in Bengaluru, a 60-year-old pilot working for a private airline is accused of raping a 26-year-old cabin crew member earlier this month at a luxury hotel. The incident happened on November 18, after a chartered flight from Begumpet in Hyderabad and Puttaparthi in Andhra Pradesh.

As reported by law enforcement, the suspect, Rohit Saran, along with a colleague and the victim, checked into the hotel for rest prior to their next flight scheduled for the following day. The survivor alleges that during a conversation, Rohit enticed her into his hotel room under the guise of wanting to smoke. Inside, she claims he violently attacked her.

Upon returning to Begumpet on November 20, the victim immediately reported the assault to the airline's management and subsequently filed a zero FIR at Begumpet Police Station. Authorities have initiated legal proceedings under Section 63 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, pertaining to rape allegations.

The inquiry has now been reassigned to Halasuru Police Station in Bengaluru City for further investigation. Police have verified that they are actively looking into the case, although there is no information available about the suspect's detention or any related legal proceedings at this time.
