On July 1, 2025, a Peel Regional Police officer was injured in Mississauga when a motorcyclist crashed into a marked cruiser at Erin Mills Parkway and Eglinton Avenue West.

The motorcyclist didn’t stop after the crash. Instead, they also struck the officer before fleeing the scene. The officer was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Peel police shared a photo of the damaged cruiser and asked anyone who saw the motorcyclist to call them at 905‑453‑3311 ext. 1133. The crash happened near a busy intersection, raising concerns about safety and the importance of following traffic rules and stopping after an accident.

Because the motorcyclist fled, police are now searching for them and have released their description. Finding the rider is essential to advancing the investigation and ensuring justice .

 Why This Matters

  • Officer safety: This reminds us that police also face danger while working, and it’s vital that drivers stay safe and accountable.

  • Hit-and-run concern: Leaving the scene after an accident is against the law and can make situations even more dangerous.

  • Public support needed: Peel police are urging people to look out for the suspect to ensure justice is served and officer well-being is protected.
