Historic Wedding: Australian PM Anthony Albanese Ties the Knot with Jodie Haydon

In a remarkable milestone, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has made history by becoming the first sitting PM to marry while serving. On Saturday, he wed his long-term partner, Jodie Haydon, in a private ceremony at The Lodge in Canberra, attended exclusively by close family and friends.

The couple had kept their wedding plans under wraps since their engagement on Valentine’s Day last year. Albanese expressed heartfelt joy, stating, “We are overjoyed to affirm our commitment to each other in the presence of our family and friends.”

Jodie Haydon has been an integral part of Albanese's public life, supporting him during his successful 2022 election campaign. Guests enjoyed beer from a specially crafted can, courtesy of Willie the Boatman, a brewery located in Sydney's Inner West. Following the couple’s vows, they exited the ceremony to the tune of Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I’m Yours)” and shared their first dance to Frank Sinatra's timeless hit, “The Way You Look Tonight.”

The couple plans a honeymoon within Australia next week, privately financed. This intimate affair illustrates their personal tastes while embracing a family-oriented celebration.
