Bride Walks Away from Wedding in Uttar Pradesh After Just 20 Minutes

Post by : Bianca Hayes

In an astonishing event in Uttar Pradesh, a bride departed from her husband only 20 minutes after reaching her in-laws’ residence, initiating an intense five-hour village council meeting that concluded the marriage.

The wedding took place on November 25 at a venue in Deoria, adhering to customary rituals, with both families appearing to enjoy a typical celebration. However, the following morning, during the traditional reception at the groom's house, the bride unexpectedly emerged from her quarters and called her parents, announcing her refusal to live with her husband.

Efforts from relatives on both sides to convince her to stay proved fruitless. The bride's family pointed to what they termed unfriendly conduct from the groom’s family, although she herself did not elaborate further.

Panchayat Meeting Leads to Separation

This surprising incident resulted in the families organizing a local panchayat on the afternoon of November 26. Over a span of five hours, residents and relatives attempted to mediate, yet reconciliation was deemed impossible.

Eventually, a formal agreement was reached, allowing the couple to part ways by mutual consent, while permitting them to remarry in the future. All gifts and exchanged items were returned, and the bride departed with her family by evening.

Reactions from Families

The groom’s family expressed their sorrow, noting that everything had seemed perfectly fine prior to the wedding. They acknowledged the shock of the sudden decision, which caused embarrassment among neighbors and relatives, yet chose not to involve law enforcement after the bride's definitive choice.

Arranged six months earlier, the abrupt dissolution of this marriage the very next day after the ceremony has left the community abuzz with discussions regarding this unusual occurrence.
