Massachusetts – A touching tribute took place on Monday as Balbir Singh marked an impressive 40 years of service at a McDonald’s in Massachusetts. Arriving in style via limousine, he was welcomed by enthusiastic colleagues and franchise executives, highlighting his four decades of loyalty to the fast-food giant.

Originally hailing from India, Singh made his way to the U.S. in the 1980s and began his career at the Somerville McDonald’s in 1985. He worked his way up from kitchen staff to managing multiple locations, earning admiration for his steadfast dedication to the brand and its people.

The celebration included a special service award, a commemorative “One in Eight” jacket representing the many who have worked at McDonald’s, and a generous $40,000 check signifying his four decades with the company. Colleagues, affectionately known as “papa bear,” rolled out a red carpet and joined together for a dinner celebrating his achievements.

Franchise owner Lindsay Wallin praised Singh’s dedication, reflecting on how he has significantly influenced the restaurant’s environment and mentor younger team members. “Balbir fully embodies our motto of ‘Why not?’ and has motivated numerous team members to flourish alongside the company,” Wallin noted.

Humbly, Singh acknowledged his lengthy service, describing McDonald’s as “kind of like family,” which explains his four-decade longevity in the organization. His journey was celebrated with heartfelt admiration, highlighting the loyalty, commitment, and relationships nurtured through years of dedicated service.
