Presidential Message Marks Holocaust Remembrance Days

The White House has issued a formal presidential message to mark the Days of Remembrance of Victims of the Holocaust, honoring the millions of lives lost and reaffirming the United States’ commitment to fighting antisemitism and hate in all forms. The statement highlights the historical significance of this period, especially The Holocaust, in which more than six million Jewish people were murdered, along with millions of others targeted by Nazi persecution.

The message also acknowledges other victim groups, including Roma and Sinti communities, Slavic and Polish populations, people with disabilities, Soviet prisoners of war, Jehovah’s Witnesses, and individuals persecuted for their sexual orientation. It stresses that the atrocities carried out by Nazi Germany remain one of the darkest chapters in human history, and must never be forgotten.

Marking Yom HaShoah, the statement reflects on the suffering endured during World War II, while also recognizing the resilience and strength shown by survivors. The White House emphasized that remembering these events is essential to preventing similar atrocities in the future.

The administration outlined steps it has taken to address antisemitism within the country. These include the creation of a federal task force to improve coordination between government agencies and stronger directives for law enforcement. Authorities have been instructed to actively investigate and prosecute hate crimes targeting Jewish communities and ensure accountability for acts of violence.

The message concludes with a renewed national commitment to stand against antisemitism and all forms of hatred. It calls on citizens and institutions to remain vigilant, uphold human dignity, and carry forward the memory of Holocaust victims with respect and responsibility.
