UAE Advocates for Global Unity Against Muslim Brotherhood at EU Summit

The European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) Party organized a pivotal conference aimed at addressing the Muslim Brotherhood and the challenges of political Islam, gathering Members of the European Parliament alongside senior officials, including His Excellency Mohammed Ismail Al-Sahlawi, the UAE Ambassador to the European Union, Belgium, and Luxembourg.

During the discussions, speakers examined the threats posed by the Muslim Brotherhood and its influence on European societies. The group’s methods of recruitment and its possible role in undermining security and stability were areas of concern raised by multiple participants. Many lauded the UAE for its decision to classify the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist entity, urging the global community to adopt similar strategies in tackling extremism.

Ambassador Mohammed Ismail Al-Sahlawi highlighted the UAE's unwavering resolve to eradicate terrorism, extremism, and violence. He emphasized the UAE's proactive stance against the disruptive actions of Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated entities intending to instigate unrest and compromise security across the globe.

Al-Sahlawi reiterated that the UAE's strategy fosters coexistence, tolerance, and peaceful principles while denouncing all forms of extremism. He underscored the necessity for enhanced international and regional collaboration to effectively counter terrorism and extremist narratives.

He also commended several nations for designating particular branches of the Muslim Brotherhood in the region as terrorist groups. This recognition, according to him, stemmed from credible reports associating these branches with illicit operations, extremist messaging, and ties to terrorist networks.

Al-Sahlawi argued that these decisive measures bolster global initiatives aimed at violence prevention and countering threats to security and stability. He reaffirmed the UAE's commitment to supporting all international actions directed at combating terrorism and fostering peace and stability on both regional and global fronts.

The event wrapped up with a consensus on the necessity for ongoing collaboration between governments and institutions to effectively address the threats posed by extremism, aimed at preserving societal security worldwide.
