During the 2026 Warsaw International Book Fair, TRENDS Research & Advisory, together with the TRENDS Youth Council, hosted a pivotal panel entitled “Shaping Tomorrow: Youth Voices and Global Impact.”

This engaging session took place at the TRENDS pavilion and featured young leaders and scholars from Poland and the UAE. They gathered to discuss pressing global issues, encourage intercultural dialogue, and view the crucial role that youth play in shaping a better future.

Topics covered included the transformative impact of artificial intelligence (AI), the pervasive influence of social media, and the severe challenge of digital polarisation which affects younger generations.

Panelists recognized AI and digital innovation as vital forces impacting our future and stressed the necessity for young individuals to engage with these advancements and cultivate the skills required to navigate an evolving digital landscape.

A significant concern raised was the effect of social media on public discourse, with participants noting that digital polarisation presents challenges for global communication, information access, and opinion formation. They advocated for fostering critical thought and responsible usage of digital platforms.

Intercultural dialogue emerged as a vital theme. Speakers underscored that, in today’s interconnected society, such dialogue is essential for dismantling stereotypes and fostering understanding, particularly among youth.

The attendees argued that youth should not merely be seen as tomorrow's leaders but as active players who can significantly influence policies and tackle contemporary global challenges.

Concluding the session, participants expressed a desire for greater collaboration between research organizations and youth groups. TRENDS reiterated its dedication to fostering dialogue, knowledge exchange, and international research initiatives that empower future generations and enhance youth involvement in global affairs.
