SpaceX Aims for 10,000 Annual Rocket Launches by 2031

Post by : Bianca Hayes

SpaceX is setting its sights on achieving a remarkable milestone of 10,000 rocket launches annually within the next five years, as shared by the head of the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

During a recent public forum, FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford conveyed his discussion with Gwynne Shotwell, where she articulated the company’s ambitious roadmap for ramping up its launch operations significantly.

Bedford noted that the FAA does not view regulatory hurdles as the primary challenge to enhance launch frequency in the United States.

This declaration coincides with SpaceX's formal filing of its S-1 prospectus with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), signaling preparations for what could evolve into one of the largest initial public offerings (IPOs) ever.

This is also the first occasion in its 24-year history that SpaceX has disclosed detailed financial information publicly.

According to the filing, the company recorded $18.7 billion in revenue for 2025. However, it also noted an operating loss of $2.6 billion as it maintains its substantial investments in next-gen rocket technology and AI initiatives.

While not officially confirming the projected funds to be raised through the IPO or its anticipated market valuation, various US media sources suggest that SpaceX is aiming for nearly $75 billion, potentially leading to a valuation of as much as $1.75 trillion.

The firm’s bold expansion strategies reflect its increasing commitment to large-scale space transportation, satellite deployment, and advanced aerospace technology development.
