In a successful mission, SpaceX has launched 24 new Starlink satellites, furthering its goal of providing high-speed satellite internet around the world. This launch represents a critical step in expanding the company’s space-based communications network.
Utilizing the well-tested Falcon 9 rocket, the launch took place at Vandenberg Space Launch Complex and delivered the satellites into low Earth orbit to join the extensive Starlink constellation already in service.
After a successful ascent, stage separation occurred as planned, with the first-stage booster safely landing on an autonomous drone ship in the Pacific Ocean, showcasing SpaceX’s reusable technology that significantly cuts launch costs.
Meanwhile, the upper stage continued its flight, positioning the satellites in orbit. Once they were deployed, the satellites commenced integration into the Starlink network, designed to facilitate internet connectivity in remote and underserved areas globally.
