The highly anticipated Rolling Loud festival, a major event in the Hip-Hop realm, celebrated its first-ever edition in India this Saturday at Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. Attendees were moved across two stages, ensuring a dynamic experience filled with performances.
Kicking off day one was a blend of local and global talent, although Los Angeles singer-songwriter Allyn had to postpone her performance due to a foot injury, promising to return for day two in a wheelchair.
The crowd was entranced by India’s pioneering all-women Hip-Hop group, Wild Wild Women, showcasing their impressive energy and colorful attire. Concurrently, American rapper Dababy entertained fans with captivating verses and spontaneous moments, even splashing water on the audience during his electrifying set.
Swae Lee delivered an unforgettable performance, featuring acclaimed tracks such as Sunflower, No Type, Black Beatles, and Unforgettable. He engaged fans with a fun Mannequin Challenge and thrilled them with a surprise announcement of upcoming music in January.
Local artist Hanumankind, fresh from knee surgery, energized the crowd with hits like Police at the Door and Monsoon Season, supported by the dance troupe Kings United, adding a visual extravaganza to his performance.
Wiz Khalifa took attendees through an emotional journey, performing favorites such as Young Wild and Free and We Dem Boyz. He concluded his set with a touching tribute, dedicating See You Again to recently departed artists, showcased on the screen.
The event wrapped up with British rapper Central Cee, who performed Truth in the Lies. Sporting a Lord Shiva-themed T-shirt along with a green beanie, he added a unique touch to the festival. A viral video of him playing cricket in Mumbai before his performance and a brief altercation among festival-goers also captured attention.
The first installment of Rolling Loud India left fans exhilarated, offering high-energy acts, stellar line-ups, and memorable experiences, setting the tone for day two of the festival.
