An infant and two adults were taken to hospital after being struck by a vehicle in North York on Sunday evening. Emergency crews responded to the scene near Caledonia Road and Glengrove Avenue West, just south of Lawrence Avenue West, following reports of multiple pedestrians hit.

According to Toronto Police Service, four individuals were found injured at the scene, including an infant, a woman in her 20s, and a man in his 20s. All three were transported to hospital for treatment, while a fourth person with minor injuries was assessed at the location.

Paramedics initially reported that the infant and the woman had sustained serious, possibly life-threatening injuries, while the man’s injuries were described as serious but not life-threatening. However, in a later update, authorities confirmed that all injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening.

The driver involved in the incident remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Police have not yet released details about what led to the collision, and the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.

A section of the road was temporarily closed as officers conducted their investigation and gathered evidence from the scene. Authorities have not indicated whether any charges will be laid at this stage.

The incident adds to ongoing concerns about pedestrian safety in busy urban areas, as officials continue to examine the factors that contributed to the crash.
