Man Injured in Overbrook Shooting Police Investigate Incident

A man was hospitalized with gunshot wounds on Friday following a daylight shooting in Overbrook, police and paramedics confirmed.

The incident occurred near Presland Road and Lola Street. Police posted on social media shortly before 1 p.m., stating: “One person has been transported to the hospital. No one is in custody at this time. Please avoid the area.”

An adult male was taken to the hospital in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries, according to paramedics. They were initially called to the scene at 11:40 a.m., but it took 25 minutes to locate the patient, said spokesperson Marc-Antoine Deschamps.

Police have not made any arrests, and the investigation is ongoing. Authorities have urged residents to avoid the area while officers continue to secure and process the scene.

Daylight shootings in Ottawa are rare but treated with heightened concern due to public safety risks. Police continue to investigate potential motives and are seeking information from witnesses.
