In response to a missile and drone attack on Wednesday, Kuwait's Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) activated its emergency protocols at Terminal One of Kuwait International Airport, resulting in casualties and significant damage to facilities.

PACA spokesperson Abdullah Al-Rajhi confirmed that immediate emergency measures were implemented to ensure the safety of passengers and airport personnel, maintaining crucial infrastructure in light of the situation. The response follows established emergency guidelines.

Given the current security environment, all flights at Kuwait International Airport have been suspended. Operations have been redirected to nearby airports while authorities conduct a thorough review of the circumstances and prioritize safety measures.

Al-Rajhi noted that security and contingency strategies are actively being implemented to facilitate the eventual reopening of the airport. Technical teams have commenced assessments of the damage inflicted by the attack, which must be addressed before any repair work can begin.

Authorities have yet to provide an estimated timeline for the reopening of the airport, as damage evaluations continue.
