Kevin Spacey is set to face new legal proceedings in London next year over civil sexual assault claims, years after being cleared of criminal charges.
Three men have filed lawsuits against the 66-year-old actor, alleging assaults that occurred between 2000 and 2013 while Spacey served as artistic director at the Old Vic theatre. A judge has suggested October 12, 2026, as a provisional trial date, though it remains undecided whether the cases will be combined into a single trial or heard separately.
Spacey has denied all allegations. Two of the claimants were part of his previous criminal trial, which ended in acquittal. One alleges repeated assaults between 2000 and 2005, another claims psychological and financial harm from an alleged 2008 incident, and a third, actor Ruari Cannon, says he was groped at a theatre event in 2013. Cannon is also suing the Old Vic theatre.
Recently, Spacey spoke publicly about the financial impact of his legal battles, saying he has been living in temporary accommodations while continuing work. He later clarified that he is not homeless in the usual sense, expressing gratitude to those who offered support and sympathy for people facing genuine hardship.
