Tragic Collision in Gatineau Claims Life of 77-Year-Old Woman

A tragic incident unfolded on Saturday night in Gatineau, Quebec, where a 77-year-old woman lost her life in a multi-vehicle collision.

The collisions happened around 7 p.m. on Boulevard Lorrain, just north of Chemin Valiquette. Initial reports indicate that one vehicle collided with another before hitting a third vehicle head-on.

Both the driver and a passenger from the second vehicle suffered serious injuries and were transported to the hospital, where the elderly woman was pronounced dead. Reports confirm the driver is now in stable condition as of Sunday afternoon.

Meanwhile, the 37-year-old driver responsible for both accidents, hailing from Val-des-Monts, Quebec, has been hospitalized and faces several charges, including impaired driving leading to death and impaired driving resulting in bodily harm.

Fortunately, the driver of the first vehicle involved did not sustain any injuries.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and Boulevard Lorrain has reopened for traffic after being temporarily closed due to the crashes.
