Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi, the Speaker of the Arab Parliament, has emphatically denounced the ongoing Israeli military offensives against Lebanon, labeling them as grave infringements of international law that jeopardize regional peace and civilian safety.

In a statement released this Monday, Al Yamahi expressed profound alarm over the intensifying violence, citing reports of civilian casualties, extensive destruction in heavily populated areas, and significant harm to crucial infrastructure and public amenities throughout Lebanon. He underscored that such actions are a stark violation of international humanitarian norms and are incompatible with the tenets of the United Nations Charter.

The Arab Parliament Speaker cautioned that the persistent escalation might yield serious repercussions for security and stability across the region. He pointed out that continued assaults on civilian infrastructures risk exacerbating the humanitarian crisis and inflating regional tensions.

Al Yamahi urged the international community, especially the United Nations Security Council, to take swift and transformative measures to cease the attacks and ensure adherence to international mandates. He called on global actors to apply pressure for the cessation of military activities and to ensure Israel's compliance with United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, which aims to uphold peace and order along the Lebanese-Israeli border.

Reiterating the Arab Parliament's steadfast support for Lebanon, Al Yamahi emphasized the importance of protecting the country’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity. He also expressed backing for Lebanese state institutions in their endeavor to maintain national security, stabilize the country, and reinforce the authority of the state across all Lebanese regions.

This statement reflects the increasing apprehension across the region regarding the conflict's implications and highlights the urgent need for diplomatic measures to prevent further escalation and safeguard civilian lives.
