The second installment of the Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi's “Where Life Pulses” initiative saw participation from over 6,000 attendees at Zakher Park in Al Ain, showcasing the significance of community engagement and family involvement.

This event aimed to enhance children's and youth's empowerment by transforming residential neighborhoods into vibrant social hubs. Families, aspiring young entrepreneurs, and officials gathered in a lively setting rife with educational, cultural, and entertainment activities.

Senior figures, including His Excellency Shamis Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Chairman of the Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi, and His Excellency Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Secretary General of Erth Zayed Philanthropies, attended the gathering.

Participants enjoyed numerous attractions such as youth-led business booths, engaging games, live shows, and creative workshops—12 of which were offered, covering activities like coffee painting, bracelet crafting, clay modeling, and tote bag creation.

The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi contributed through its Proud of the UAE initiative, showcasing traditional activities related to Arabic calligraphy and Emirati art, thereby promoting cultural heritage and values among participants.

Fun-filled entertainment options included bubble displays, face painting, balloon designs, and interactive games, facilitating family connections and community spirit.

Fatema Abdulrahman Al Hosani, Director of Social Cohesion at the Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi, expressed that the strong community turnout highlighted the initiative’s impact on fostering familial and social ties. She noted that the program empowers youth to present their projects while deepening their ties to Emirati traditions.

The success of the Zakher edition was amplified through collaborations with various Abu Dhabi governmental bodies. These partnerships aimed at enhancing community involvement, especially among students, and providing essential support for emerging entrepreneurs.

Funding for this initiative came from the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an along with strategic backing from Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company (ADNIC) and other contributors. Platforms for initiatives like Madeem and the Emirati Family Growth Program were also present at the event.

The Department of Community Development announced that the “Where Life Pulses” initiative will proceed across various residential neighborhoods in Abu Dhabi until 2026, with each activation tailored to resonate with local community characteristics and interests to foster greater engagement.
